John Oliver on the Disastrous Water Shortage in the US Southwest [VIDEO]

John Oliver discusses the water shortage in the American west, how it’s already impacting the people who live there, and what God has to say about it.
The reality is, climate change impacts aside, the American southwest was NEVER meant to support the amount of people who are currently living there.
It was known for some time that increasing populations in the southwest would lead to water problems.
Add to that climate change (in this part of the world, less winter precip, and also increased pan evaporation because of higher temps) and the problem now is getting to be very awkward.

I recommend The Magicians, but not because of Matt Frewer, who’s only in three episodes. I’ve watched the series several times, because it has a lot of great characters.

So federal agents have seized property from both Jeffrey Clark and John Eastman. Probably not tied to tomorrow’s hearing — but who knows? Maybe the urgency for the hearing tomorrow is not to be upstaged by leaks that would likely appear if the hearing were delayed until after the recess.
The Watergate hearing had such an impact because there was substantial new information being released all at once, instead of dribs and drabs that could not sustain public interest at all. That’s what happened with the Mueller report — it would have been a real shock if all the information came out there instead of being “old news”.

Ireland Baldwin revealed that she experienced two abortions, one as the result of rape and the other during a former relationship.“I don’t feel that it is anyone’s responsibility to talk about this if they don’t feel comfortable,” Baldwin, 26, said in a Sunday TikTok video following the Supreme Court ruling to overturn Roe v. Wade and make abortion rights a state decision.
Baldwin said her first abortion happened after she was raped as a teenager, and she told no one at the time what had happened.
She said she later got pregnant while in a relationship that has since ended. “We were very unhappy together,” she said in the video on social media. “And he made it pretty clear that he never wanted kids or marriage — he barely wanted to be in a serious relationship.”

Spoilers.
Even for Prime Video’s The Boys, this week’s episode “Herogasm” is a lot. Spoilers past this point, but in the hour Butcher (Karl Urban) and Hughie (Jack Quaid) take Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) to track down two of his former team-members, only to discover they’re hosting this year’s Herogasm, a no-holds-barred superhero orgy.
From serpentine penises, to oodles of semen, to tiny men slathered in, er, juices, there’s so much in “Herogasm” that you can’t unsee. But as it turns out, there was only one thing that gave The Boys’ overlords at Amazon pause: The Deep (Chace Crawford) having sex with an octopus.
“I think Amazon had some questions about having conjugal relationships with an octopus,” showrunner Eric Kripke told Decider. “Weirdly, for some uptight reason I don’t understand, their standards has a no bestiality rule, which is like, talk about uptight.”

Christ on a fucking trampoline! They were using hemp rope instead of braided wire?
That would totally rock.

Tomorrow’s mystery witness at the Jan 6 committee hearing is not Mike Pence. Get real. Mike Pence is not going to turn on Trump. He’s a craven coward who’s still trading on his association with Trump.

Terrible accident
One guy climbs up into the box at the center of the video instead of running away. I hope that was a sealable shelter, and he didn’t just panic and do the wrong thing.
NEWS: Cassidy HUTCHINSON will be the surprise witness at the Jan. 6 hearing tomorrow
Hutchinson was a senior aide to former WH Chief of Staff Mark Meadows

This should be good.

That is what is called a pressure vessel, we used them all the time on offshore drilling rigs, and even back in the 70’s, you always handled them with braided wire. Hemp rope?
The poor bastards never had a chance. Anyone in the immediate area who couldn’t run was dead.

If true, it would be delightful to drill down on those pardon requests before they all head out in their home district barbecues. https://t.co/wQc43jKVNd

Nah, best yet.
Whatever happened to Nestor, Matt’s adopted son? We haven’t heard a thing since it was posited that he might be Matt’s gay punch. Maybe Matt’s problem is that he is a pansexual pedophile, trafficking in underage boys *and* girls?
I’m just asking for a friend.
Two weeks ago Cassidy Hutchinson changed lawyers.
She dropped a Trump-affiliated lawyer and signaled she was willing to cooperate with the investigation.
I’m gonna guess she’s brought receipts.https://t.co/SCLrRo0g7f— 🌻 Kaz Weida 🌻 (@kazweida) June 28, 2022
“…Passantino, Hutchinson’s former attorney, was the Trump White House’s chief ethics lawyer. And Passantino’s firm, Michael Best, has Trump World connections; its president is former White House chief of staff Reince Priebus, and Justin Clark — also a top Trump World lawyer — is currently on leave from the firm, according to its website.”

Man, she missed a step. The Toobin Zoom meeting reference was right there.

The Youth Pastor of my former church is currently venting on FB. He has a team going overseas for a week. Because of an extended delay, they are currently stuck in Toronto, Canada until tomorrow at the earliest.
And none of them can leave the airport since they don’t have covid vaccinations.
What arrogance.
Expecting their spiritual authority to hold sway in the temporal world.
Such haughtiness does not lead to rewards in heaven.
After a month of heavy use of my M1 iMac, I have to say I am still blown away by the performance compared to the 2008 Mac Pro it replaced. This is one hell of a computer.

He says he’s doing better, but is still fuzzy. He feels well enough now to joke that people have hired him when his head is fuzzy before.
